Music at All Saints'
Music and the arts are highly valued in our parish. Through offering
our voices and instrumental talents to the glory of God, we begin to
manifest a deeper spiritual experience both as individuals and as a
community of believers.
"My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give
praise. Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will
awake early. I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing
unto thee among the nations." Psalm 57: 7-9
Music at All Saints' is anchored by our Sanctuary Choir which helps
lead the liturgy of the 10:30 service on Sunday mornings. Our valued
choristers commit to a weekly evening 90-minute rehearsal, and often
lead in special services such as the Easter Vigil and Choral
Evensongs. We, at All Saints', are also committed to the development
of church musicians and to that end, have established choral
scholarships for deserving vocal students.
Our Handbell Ringers rehearse once a week for one hour and perform six
times a year at both Sunday morning services. Comprised mostly of
amateur musicians, we share an infectious enthusiasm for music and
anyone who can count, regardless of prior musical training, is invited
to join.
The All Saints' Concert Series is the main outreach program of the
Music Department. We invite the community to experience the
transformative power of the performing arts.
Wednesdays@NOON is a series of free 20-minute mini-recitals of organ
music held every Wednesday at noon from September to May. This is a
nice opportunity to add some space and "breathing room" in your day.
All free-will donations go to the Music Department.
